Camping at Dosewallips: A Photo Summary.

We went camping at the Dosewallips State Park last weekend.

I love the Pacific Northwest.

  1. Ok, what are the round foil things? They look like funfetti cake inside a hollowed-out orange....

    1. That's exactly what they are! We cut the top of oranges, stuffed them full of cake mix and tossed them into a campfire.

    1. It was fun, although I was so happy to get back to a warm shower and a decent bed. Let's go camping!

    1. It's an orange that's hollowed out and filled with cake batter. You then wrap it tightly with aluminum foil and toss it into a fire (or in our case, into hot coals) for about 25 minutes. Then devour! Easy and delicious. :)

I'll be making some more at a BBQ tomorrow, I'll take some photos and do a post dedicated to their deliciousness. In the meantime, this blog did a great job describing the process: http://bread-and-honey.blogspot.com/2008/09/campfire-cakes.html
