We Own a House!

Our home funded today, and we are now officially owners of Casa Crustante. And as I promised my spouse, my first purchase was to be a gnome. So we jumped into our car and headed to Molbak's.
They must have the cutest gnome display ever. It's in a small half-shed, decorated sublimely, and it really adds to the joy of picking out such a purchase. And after much deliberation and struggling against my difficulty of committing to buying things (I faux-shop a LOT. If it's not directly essential, I am frustratingly indecisive on purchases), I picked out the one right smack in the middle of the display.

And now he's our official steward of the 1/5 of the acre that we shall call home.

I think his name shall be Gnorris. Chunk Gnorris.

Husband's Birthday Card

So. Yeah. I needed to make some form of invite for my husband's last minute decision to have a testosterone fueled get-together. Guns, cake, Jesus, and three majestic ghost wolves. Yup, I'm done here.

Roll a D6.

This totally makes me want to play D&D again.

Damn, I'm so totally not ready to be turning 30.

"Put your shields up!"

cl-ass-y

I don't normally like to write about bodily functions, but I figured that this was spectacular enough to warrant its own post.

Someone took a crap at Casa Crustante, which is dead bolted and locked up. The toilet had a seal on it, they broke it and used it.

Nobody knows who did it.

What we DO know is that it was so epic that the appraiser was unable to determine whether or not we have functional plumbing.

And the proof is photo-documented in our appraisal.

...I'm not sure what else to say.

Brilliant Marketing

We don't usually buy soft drinks (exceptions are made for road trips on occasion) - why spend your carbs and your money on something that isn't good beer? And the sugar free stuff? Forget about it, I'll order my cancer from somewhere else, thankyouverymuch.

I'm not immune to marketing, however. And if I were inclined to impulse shop, this store would have probably won my dollar.

I Guess the Purse Gene Still Lingers

Guess what followed me home today?

Behold, my new kristin spectator willow bag.

It's been a loooong time since I've cared for anything that has come out of Coach. Most of their designs the last few years have been on the same level as Juicy Couture. And I don't meant that as a compliment.

But lately they've been really updating their look. Clean lines, simpler colors, more classic details. Fewer logos splashed everywhere. My love affair may have just been lying dormant.

The craftsmanship is remarkable on this one. The zippers are solid and it hangs perfectly, it tucks in right below the ribcage. The bag heft is perfect- it's not going to roam off your shoulders while you're shopping, and if you need to wear it lower, a simple pull on the straps will allow you to do just that. And it has just enough room to organize exactly what I need.

Perfectly spaced compartments for keys and my HTC G2. And my fat wallet. I'll be upgrading my wallet soon, though.

And on the other side, there's enough room to pocket my little 35mm Diana Mini.

I love this bag. So much. In fact, haiku!

Sweet little grey bag
Holds just what I need and love
Brings joy to routine.

Happy (Early) Pawlidays

Look - My newly dark plum nails are making a cameo here!

We ventured to our friends' home this evening to drop our doglet off for the weekend. They had some holiday outfits for their kittens lying around (their cats* tolerate them, amazingly!).

...and so we decided to deck out Abby with some festive attire, too. She's about the same size as the kittens.
This is what happens when you say the T-R-E-A-T word:

And then things got silly. Swear to god, this hasn't been manipulated
.
I laughed so hard I had tears in my eyes. Such a ridiculous picture. It has been a lovely evening. I guess I should finish packing to Sacramento, eh?

*All cats shown here are considered "Good Cats." These types of cats are rare and hard to find. Do not assume that all other cats are forgiven for their heinous behavior and crimes against my furniture and sleep patterns
